This lot was manufactured in China and was sourced from outside the United States for this auction after the tariffs were enacted. Accordingly, any client who wishes to take delivery of this item within the United States will be subject to a 7.5% import tariff plus a processing fee of 0.3464% (minimum $27.75 / maximum $538.40). Obverse: Square stamp reading Ying Yuan in seal script; Reverse: Plain. Cut rather crudely, with a few deposits in the recesses. A few deep test cuts are noted on the obverse. An early and crude form of gold currency, it is more probable that these cubes were used as funeral money rather than for use in everyday commerce.
